What services does an on Location wedding Minister in Las Vegas provide and how does that option differ from other choices?

Let’s face it, most wedding couples choose to have their weddings in Las Vegas at wedding chapels because it is easy and all their needs are attended to in one location.  That is a wonderful quality about choosing a Las Vegas wedding ceremony.

However, many couples don’t know the difference between the services proviced at a wedding chapel by Las Vegas Ministers and those that are provided by an on Location wedding Minister.

Wedding Ceremony:

The conditions for the wedding ceremony differ greatly in a wedding chapel verses the on location wedding ceremony in Las Vegas.  There is a big difference.  In my service as an on location wedding Minister, I offer a choice of ceremonies ranging from civil (non-religious) to Spiritual and the Traditional Christian choices.  Typically on location Ministers like I will offer to help you customize your service with additional personalized touches.   Many couples do want to include their family or have the popular unity candle ceremony, blending of the sands ceremony or special cultural ceremonies or requests.

Getting Acquainted with the Wedding Minister:

I have worked in wedding chapels and outdoor scenic companies before in my history here as a Las Vegas Minister.  Personally I found those choices not as fulfilling as offering my services to couples as an on location Minister.  I found those other circumstances did not offer me the opportunity to get to know the couples and chat with them prior to the ceremony.  Often I felt pressed for time and was unable to offer the more personalized touch for the ceremony that I am able to do with weddings on location.  In many cases the ceremonial aspect of the wedding day seemed unimportant and belittled somehow due to the lack of time available to enjoy the ceremony and really feel like it was something special to be treasured.

When I perform on location weddings in Las Vegas and the surrounding areas I have several conversations with the couples prior to the wedding day.  I don’t feel like a total stranger when I arrive to their wedding and this is much more fulfilling for myself and the couples I serve.  We have an opportunity to ask questions of one another and get to know each other.  I am able to personalize the ceremony for couples if they wish and then I give the couple a keepsake copy of the ceremony when it is completed.

I have found that so many of the couples I have served in country clubs, home weddings,  resort weddings and  hotel weddings in Las Vegas for example, have kept in touch with me after the wedding as well.  It has been my greatest pleasure to connect and get to know wedding couples in this way.  I intend to keep serving couples and is an honor to have the opportunity to serve as a Las Vegas Minister in this way in addition to the Ministerial services I provide to my congregation.

A Las Vegas Wedding Minister story; “should I accept the invitation to stay for the reception?”

In my experience here in Las Vegas as a wedding Minister, I’ve had many couples invite me to stay after the wedding for their receptions or even dinner.  Usually they invite me at the last minute and this typically prevents me from being able to accept their offer.  If you would like to invite your Minister to stay and enjoy your reception with you, my suggestion is to invite them well in advance.

In the past, it has been a tradition to invite the Minister to stay and enjoy the celebration.  Granted, in Las Vegas, the typical situation is most couples have planned the occasion from a distance and they usually don’t live here.  As a general rule, I don’t know the bridal couple at all.  Of course I don’t know their guests either. This can be an awkward situation sometimes.  It’s sometimes a little difficult to strike up conversation with people you don’t know at all.  Most of the conversation is trivial and doesn’t last long.  However, I have stayed to chat with couples and the guests and have had many beautiful and rewarding conversations.   I usually don’t have much time to spend with the couple at their reception though.  They are busy mingling and attending to their guests. And so it should be.

I explained to one kind couple who genuinely wanted me to attend the reception and partake of the food, “If I attended every reception and ate all the food and cake that was offered to me in the many thousands of weddings I’ve performed, I would be immensely overweight.”

I always appreciate couples thinking of me and sometimes I am able to stay for awhile. It’s especially nice to see the events of a reception unfold and how happy everyone is.  It’s always entertaining, enjoyable and moving to hear the toasts as well.  More than likely I have another wedding I have to leave for and am unable to stay long.  Not to mention, I normally have church the next day to finish preparing for.

To make a long story shorter, keep in mind that we officiates realize the invitation is a courtesy and we normally are not able to stay.  But I’ve always appreciated the generous and kind invitation.  It’s nice to feel needed and to be asked.

Thank you to all of you kind hearted and loving souls who have invited me!

Apache Marriage Blessing

Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be the shelter for each other. Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be the warmth for the other. Now you are two persons, but there is only one life before. Go now to your dwelling place to enter into the days of your life together. And may your days be good and long upon the earth.

Treat yourselves and each other with respect, and remind yourselves often of what brought you together. Give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness and kindness that your connection deserves. When frustration, difficulty and fear assail your relationship – as they threaten all relationships at one time or another – remember to focus on what is right between you, not only the part which seems wrong. In this way, you can ride out the storms when clouds hide the face of the sun in your lives – remembering that even if you lose sight of it for a moment, the sun is still there. And if each of you takes responsibility for the quality of your life together, it will be marked by abundance and delight.
